Questions About DJ Pricing
DJ Equipment DJ Prices DJ Style Requesting Music Paying Your DJ Questions About DJ PricingSome of the questions that are answered on this page are:
This pricing information is valid for the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan in Arizona, USA. Different parts of the country have different levels of pricing. If you would like to know what you can expect to pay in your part of the country, then you should call around and ask DJ companies for a price range. Don't be surprised if the DJs insist on meeting you in person to explain their services before giving you a price. DJs vary as much as any other service providing industry does. We have different quality levels of equipment, amounts of music, amounts of experiences, demands on our services, and attitudes about how we provide services. These all effect the price that we choose to charge. The price range for Arizona is about $150 to $2500 for an event. The $150 DJ is likely a hobbyist or a beginner or both. The $2500 DJ should provide you with much more personalization, specialized services, and top quality performance. They are also more likely to be a full-time DJ. Price is an indicator of quality but it is not the only indicator. Many DJs will offer a basic service that includes a DJ for your reception, music library, and speakers. They will have additional charges for extended sound packages, a separate DJ and MC, lights, bubble machines, lasers and other effects. These are called 'up-sells' and may include any expense related to your particular wedding. These charges can add up so read your contract carefully. If you want Ceremony music and amplification, cocktail hour music or music in separate rooms, then you may require more than one set of equipment. Many DJs will charge extra for this because it requires an additional investment in equipment and additional time to setup multiple music stations.
